There are some small changes to the new and improved H-Audio line up for 2010. The changes consist of the discontinuous of the sonically transparent X-Series and the addition of the true to the recording Reference Series.
The new Reference Series is what the true audiophiles have been ask for, a detailed, transparent, reveling, smooth, warm and accurate transducer; a driver capable of true to life sound reproduction,H-Audio has answered their call, the forth coming Reference Series “Music At Its Purest”. The Reference Series was conceived to compete with the ultra high dollar offerings on the market currently, but will cost much less.
The Harmony Series which consist of the Trinity, Enigma, Ebony and Enigma-LFs will go unchanged.
The Enigma-LFs, the new Reference Series and the Prolific are all scheduled to make their appearance January 2010.
H-Audio 2010 line up
Acappella Series (Do January 2010):
Prolific 5.75" (ultra wide-band)
Bearing in abundance, intellectually productive, highly Productive, Fruitful, abundant or producing in large quantities or with great frequency.
5.75” wide-band driver, usable range 70hz-24khz; warm, natural and detailed. Enough said!
The Ref 3 and 6 uses a Pure Aluminum Alloy cone (this is Aluminum in itssoftest form) Because of its soft nature (with a little something add for strength and warmth) the sound is very detailed, transparent, accurate and highly revealing; however unlike other aluminum cone drivers the Reference Series has a smoothness and warmth that is only found in high-end paper and ploy cone drivers.
Ref 6 6.5" (mid/bass unit)
The Ref 6 takes what the Soul did to a new level. While it shares the same basket making it a true 6.5” transducer and the above average Sd rating, the new Ref 6 improves on the motor topology used for the Ebony and Soul. Making for a fast, dynamic, detail and simple put a true to life sounding transducer; a true audiophile’s driver.
Ref 3 3" (super wide-band).
The Ref 3 (nick named the baby Prolific) with its Fs coming in around 70hz and extension out to 22khz; allowing the new Ref 3 to play down into the lower mid-range/mid-bass range with easy and extend to the top octaves without the support of a tweeter if the end user so desires. Now that’s truly very wide-range for a true 3" transducer. The new Ref 3 is sure to become a point of reference not only for performance, but for price of entry into the realm of ultra high-end transducers.
Ref 2Ti 2" (wide-band tweeter)
The Ref 2Ti will let the legacy of the X2 wide-band tweeter live on. The new Ref 2Ti improves on what the X2 is/was capable of doing. With the uses of a Titanium/Magnesium alloy cone, the Ref 2Ti plays lower cleaner and smoother the current X2. The Ref 2Ti also retains the same great top end extension as the current X2, but does it with more preciseness and air, while staying true to the current X2’s detailed and revealing traits.
